Notice to Alpine Area Veterans, Auxiliary and Guests:

Alpine VFW Bert Fuller Post 9578 will observe Memorial Day 2020 with a brief ceremony and remarks by your Post Commander, Post Quartermaster and Post Chaplain at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 25th.

Memorial Day Ceremony

Although we all have a role to play in helping to limit infections and slow the spread of the virus, your Post officers believe that we have a duty to observe Memorial Day at our Post. Your attendance at this ceremony while observing social distancing and mask guidelines is appreciated.

The ceremony will be held in front of the Post and visitors may assemble in the parking lot, as long as they observe the San Diego County social distancing requirements and wearing a mask.

The Post will open immediately after the ceremony

Following the ceremony, the Alpine VFW Bert Fuller Post 9578 will open on a LIMITED basis with food & beverage service provided in accordance with the County of San Diego COVID-19 rules. Food and beverage service will be provided inside the Post and on the patio deck. The $7 meal offered will be choice of hamburger/cheeseburger or hot dog with potato salad and chili beans. Please remember social distancing and mask guidelines when in food & beverage areas of the Post.

For the Post to be successful in this “soft” opening, members and their invited guests must follow the guidelines listed below:

Social distancing (at least 6′ distance from others)must be observed at all times

Masks to be worn by all persons entering the Post

Alcohol can only be sold in the same transaction as a meal

Sit down/dine-in meals available

Post Officers and staff will be present to ensure that the rules and guidelines are followed to the letter. Persons not complying with the the spirit and letter of the guidelines will be requested to leave immediately. Non-compliance or failure to follow directions by officers or staff may result in individual post privileges being revoked.

Under no circumstances should you, your family or guests visit the Post if any of you/your party have come in contact with a person with COVID-19 OR are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as:

Cough

Fever

Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

Post Reopening Operations Effective Tuesday, May 26th*

The Post will open daily at 11 a.m., serving $7 hot and cold lunches until 5 p.m., when dinner service begins with $9 dinner specials until 8 p.m. The daily menu will be emailed to members and auxiliary for the remainder of May and will be posted in the June newsletter.
